I've followed the #fountainPens hashtag for years as a bit of a pen-head, but as I sit here using my nice Staedtler 1.3mm mech pencil, I'm wondering where are all my pencil homies?

@ottaross It is funny when someone try to write with the automatic pencil with a tungsten carbide tip I use to mark the metal.I say them "Oh, it's empty again! Let me recharge it!", then I swiftly replace the tungsten with a lead: "Here, now it works"

How do you store your ink samples?

@silhelm in theory in a fancy set of mini-drawers I made myself with cardboard and bookbinding paper, with dividers in each drawer to keep the vials vertical. There is a bit of paper that folds over the top with the name of the ink, to make it easier to identify and use them.some of themthe latest batch I bought is *temporarily* in the cardboard box of some component from the house electrical system, with dividers quickly made from bits of cardboard packaging from some groceries, until I make more drawers.I'm not sure I'll ever make enough drawers before I buy even more samples :D(and I should work on publishing the plans for the drawers, some day)

For Christmas, my Aunt gave me this incredible gift, knowing I love and collect fountain pens.

I really must stop buying fountain pens, at least for a while! I made these pen trays last week after getting a router cutter sufficiently large enough to accommodate the chunky ones. Both finished in wax, the smaller in a medium oak colour. #fountainpens #reclaimedwood #WoodWorking #crafting
