#Random question on #mending #sewing... Iron on patch this, and attempt to sew the patch on, or is there a better technique for fixing these kinds of issues? I already iron on matched it from inside twice, but it eventually peels off after enough washing...
(Yes, yes, I know the typical answer I would get here in suburbia is "buy some new pants already")

@ai6yr I've had bad experience with iron-on patches, as they tended to always be the wrong weight of fabric, and peel away.
If you have some fabric that matches perfectly you can go the victorian way, cut a square patch, press the edges under, carefully applique-stitch all around the patch with matching, then clean the edges of the hole, press them under and hemstitch for a very unnoticeable fix.
otherwise you can take any fabric of the same weight and material of the garment, put it on the back, and sew a neat sashiko embroidery to attach it to the patch making a nice statement.
or you can do what I do, put fabric of the same weight and material of the garment on the inside and sew dense running stitches in crossing directions, which is basically exactly like the sashiko option, except for the fact that it doesn't look good O:-)
