Making a thing to replace this boring bookshelf or whatever behind my front door. Happy for any thoughts. #woodworking

Last took 7m45s. Did a lot of other roughing out and shaping but no joinery today
#woodworking -
Got to do some joinery today. These narex richters really do not like to chop mortises though #woodworking
-
Got all of the side to side mortises done and tenons fit. Not as tight as I’d like but I had to switch to a chisel that’s slightly wider. 7 mortises to chop for the front to back panels, and 8 tenons to create. Trying soap stone and sharpie to mark depth on chisel and sharpie currently wins but I still don’t love it. #woodworking

Love making tenons with a rabbet plane #woodworking

Pretty pleased with the progress today #woodworking
-
Sometimes the fit is too tight, but I did what I could to persevere. #woodworking
-
Added some wooden nails to give it some added strength and pared ~everything a bit. Will not dry fit anymore.

Drawer rails nearly done. Kinda overkill frew. #woodworking
-
I should start weighing my shavings. My body is asking me why I did this. #woodworking

Second glue up round. Good: major milestone; less good: now this takes up a lot more space for a work in progress #woodworking
-
Added first two drawer rails. They are not as square as I’d like but once everything is assembled they won’t be visible so I’m ok with it. #woodworking
-
This is starting to look more like something #woodworking
-
Matching a curve. #woodworking
-
I feel like I did this in the most confusing way possible and, if I have another chance, will do it much less weirdly next time #woodworking
-
I gotta chill now, but tomorrow I plan to cut to this curve. #woodworking
