@Reinald I've heard that binding the laces around the waist while tightlacing may add more strain to the corset, wearing it out earlier, but I have no direct experience with it.I know of people who wear reenactment corsets and do it, but those are laced more loosely, and most importantly they often just have strong coutil on the outside rather than a more delicate fashion fabric. (and sometimes I do it too, because making a knot on the front is less of a hassle than making it on the back, but I do it with single layer coutil corsets)
