Time for about as heavy of turning as I can do in my shop, turning this 9" diameter round into a beveled cap.

This will get bolted onto the top of the column, and the goose body will be welded into a slot on the top of this, making for a relatively simple assembly on site while the column is still horizontal.

@GustavinoBevilacqua Luckily these facing cuts take so long I can set it on power feed and retreat to watch from a more comfortable distance. Particularly after it gets far enough in to bump it up to a slightly higher (but still just 300 RPM) speed!

Wasn't it possible to face it with the metal shaper, at least for the first passes?
