@julian and gts would do the same, right?

I'm a fully blind programmer. Started with an audio gaming toolkit by accident, now I know stuff like C, rust, python and afew others.
I believe in a better world, free of racism, ableism and all the nasty stuff some people like to belittle everyone else with, also in a future where the commons is much greatter, if not the default way of doing things, where billionaires don't exist to torment us and make our livelyhoods worse with every passing day.
I believe in the fediverse's ability to change the social media landscape, as well as grassroots technologies succeeding where big tech burned all the oxygen from the room.
Free, open source and collaborative software is a big part of the better world, the new world.
We need better free software licenses which don't only focus on the four freedoms, but also on making sure our code isn't used by people with the intention to harm everyone else, commit genocide for example, if we're going to have licenses at all.
Mutual aid networks are essential. They are the backbone of every healthy community, big or small, and also I believe that those are the best tools we have to fight the oppression all around us, the inequitable systems and the slow collapse of a lot of the things we came to depend on over time, which has been steadily accelerating in the last few years.
If you don't see me coding or reading code, usually I'll be reading book series such as the wheel of time or the malazan book of the fallen.
If not that, I'll most likely be watching cartoons or anime, listening to metal music or messing around with other stuff for fun, like trying to learn to sculpt or model stuff, print something with a 3D printer, maybe one day, etc.
Favourite metal bands include Sabaton, Orden ogan, Motionless in white, Metallica and guns&roses.
I'm on my way to understanding anarchism, but I didn't understand it fully yet, so can't say I'm an anarchist just yet, because I'd probably be lieing. Once I'll understand more, this entry in this here place will change.

RE: General interest mega-boards and forum sustainability
@julian ahh, gotcha. And what would happen now if you didn't include summary at all?

RE: General interest mega-boards and forum sustainability
@julian if we weren't constrained by what mastodon does or it implemented the article activity type properly, would this still be done the same way? yeah, I suppose technically gts is wrong for not implementing the mastodon behaviour as well because it's nonstandard, same as they mandate authorised fetch like functionality for everything that federates with gts, but yet they support some other nonstandard things themselves, which exist only because mastodon does it this way, so they're kinda inconsistent there. I wish more servers would implement the client-server part of the activity pub protocol for example, but that too is blocked because everyone making clients for the fedi targets the mastodon API from what I know, so yeah, sad indeed.
Btw, other threadiverse platforms, like lemmy and py-fed, don't have this issue on my end, where I could follow them because they support authorised fetch that is. I wonder how do they do it? or...hmm, maybe they don't work properly on mastodon while they do on gts? -
RE: General interest mega-boards and forum sustainability
@julian @silverpill also, for whatever reason, your post contained mentions twice for the same people

RE: General interest mega-boards and forum sustainability
@julian @silverpill yeah, so apparently you're using it wrong? activity pub is confusing indeed, but yeah, summary should probably include just the title

RE: General interest mega-boards and forum sustainability
@julian I mean sure, I would recommend that option be off by default with a way to turn on in the configuration file, but otherwise it sounds like a great idea. Btw, why does your post appear with a content warning which is identical to the post text?

RE: NodeBB v4.3.0 — Remote Categories are a go!
@julian I'm not sure if you know about this, but your entire post appears both as a content warning and the expanded post, both contain the exact same text. Is that issue known? btw, I'm on go to social, so perhaps that could be a factor too?
