My husband and I wear about the same size and same style, and I've largely given up on women's clothing. So today we were shopping and decided to try on some shorts and pants. I tried on a few and then came out of the dressing room so he could try on the same ones. And when I came out, he said, "those ones look really good! Which ones are they?" They were the ones I already owned, that I had worn to the store.

I occasionally try women's clothing, and every time I'm disgusted. Short sleeves that give you an armpit wedgie. Short shorts that ride up when you walk. No pockets. Lower quality fabric or missing lining for the same styles and same prices.

The lack of pockets pisses me off.
Also, I feel like the sizing (in the US, anyway) is intended to shame women.
With my sensitive skin, there are many styles I flat out reject. Scrunchie things on my arms is completely a hard pass. -

@Waitnwallflower @dillyd for real... In women's clothes, I'm "extra large"/XL or XXL, and frankly I don't really mind that but someone who was insecure about their size probably would and I also don't think I should be considered XL because I am simply not that big?
Whereas in men's (at least pants), I get to just be a couple of fucken numbers with no connotation whatsoever... And in shirts I'm a medium bc men are allowed to be bigger I guess -
@raphaelmorgan @Waitnwallflower right! You would think the average woman would wear a size medium, but I think in the US the actual average is XL. It's not fun being called extra large when you're average, in a society that wants you to take up as little space as possible

@dillyd @raphaelmorgan @Waitnwallflower The last work trousers I bought here in the US were an XL petite which makes no sense what so ever. The legs shrunk a bit after they were washed a couple of times so I’m stuck flashing my socks at people
