i seem to be heavily bottlenecked by shader compilation...

@steffo does this happen if you
1. let steam pre-compile them (for steam games)
2. you go to areas of the game for which all shaders are already compiled
because if it's still at 100% CPU usage after that it probably isn't shader compilation but rather just generally a CPU bottleneck -
oh no it stops happening after a (pretty long) while
issue is that it goes back in that state once something "new" appears on screen
which in games with a lot of "new" things appearing means it pretty much is a constant wait
deadlock for example spikes the cpu each time an "unseen" spell is cast
