Like, if you don't even understand the holiday maybe just leave it alone? (I am addressing the entire country of France.)

@ginny @GustavinoBevilacqua yea i agree, we* should just stop doing halloween here where it's nothing but an imported commercial festivity and instead embrace our own traditional costumes-and-death parties, which *do* exist.

alas, it's hard to do so in today's commercial media environment where only halloween gets room and mentions and is considered hip and trendy, unlike our own traditions

(* i'm not from france but finland, but sounds like a very similar situation to how it's here)
