and. is that an *Italian alpini* costume? that's straight into *so bad it's good* area. except for the fact that the 1880s are too late to go patriotic (stuff had already started to go downhill fast)

(illustrazione tedesca con tre costumi del secondo periodo della tournure, uno a tema Artemide, uno a tema musicale ed uno ha una giacca con decorazioni militari verde, una gonna con tre bande verde / bianco / rosso sul bordo e un cappello rotondo con una grossa piuma)
e quella cosa. è un costume a tema alpini? fa il giro. (ma gli 1880 sono troppo tardi per gli istinti di patriottismo, le cose avevano già iniziato a finire male)

Il corpo dei bersaglieri (e relativo cappello piumato¹) fu istituito nel 1836, quindi ci sta che nel 1880 fossero abbastanza famosi da fare una versione per signora del famoso cappello.

@GustavinoBevilacqua giusto, in effetti quelli dei bersaglieri ci assomiglia molto di più rispetto a quello degli alpini -

an Italian commenter mentioned that it's Beraglieri and not Alpini, wrong number of plumes (and also the shape of the hat is different) -
@gemlog I could, but I'm not going to do anything Italian-military themed past the second war of independence (1859), that's when the Italian army started to be the thing that is sent to crush peaceful popular protest rather than, well, something that didn't exist (because no Italy) and thus may be pictured in a positive way by the people interacting as allies with the Sardinian army (out of which the Italian army was born) :D
