A meat alternative I recently discovered: Gluten cubes!
You can find dried ones in Asian grocery stores, they keep forever. ~70% protein! Soak them in hot water, and then fry or stew them.
They're flavor sponges, so add a delicious sauce – today, I used garlic, chilis, star anis, vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil!
