Our yard is full of tiger mosquitos. Now I find that a locally acquired chikungunya virus disease case has been reported in Alsace for first time. France has reported 111 cases of chikungunya so far in 2025. Climate change is driving longer, hotter conditions favorable to mosquitos and thus disease spread. There’s now a vaccine for chikungunya, but not for West Nile Virus, another disease spreading in Europe by the mosquitos. I’m bit daily. Maybe time for the jab.
