Don't mention Marx so much when talking about Marxism to non-Marxists (e.g., "Marx said...," "Marx believed...") and instead talk about the facts about society that Marx observed. Don't make a Marx cult. The important thing isn't Marx, but Marx's analysis of society.

2nd thing Marxists should do:
Don't try to impose your beliefs onto the working class, even if you're right. Class aware workers should educate workers who aren't class aware to help them liberate themselves/each other, not act as some superior authority that will save the "unwashed masses" with your leadership and guidance.

Am I the only Marxist who doesn't really like the name Marxism? It seems a bit too culty to me. I prefer what it used to be called, Scientific Socialism. Unlike the name Marxism, which only tells you who made it, the name Scientific Socialism actually explains in short what the ideology is, socialism from a scientific perspective, which is what Marxism is, in essence. Socialism and Communism work as titles, too, but they aren't as descriptive.

I just have a feeling that if Marxists called themselves Socialists or Communists instead, there would be fewer arguments about whether Marx said this or that and more discussions on how to apply the ideas to our world. Arguments about socialism or communism, if they are to be had, should be about its applicability to the real world, not about dead people, as if their words came from the heavens.

No more hero worship! Marx wasn't God. He was a man with good ideas, and those ideas came from a scientific analysis of society and humans, which, in that case, if anything is to be worshiped, it should be the science of sociology.
