omg air canada. I bought something yesterday, and specifically overrode the manipulative website's checked-by-default checkbox because I explicitly did not want any emails.
Email from them today welcoming me "back":
"Thank you for your recent purchase. You’ve now been subscribed to receive our promotional emails."
