We’re indebted to a lot of people for their care and generosity. I've expressed my thanks several times but I've also hoped to demonstrate that they’d made a difference, that they’d enabled my wife and me to survive this chaotic, rootless existence and find settlement, in every sense.
But I haven't yet. And for that, I’m very sorry.
