One other thing about the Signal debacle: The reference in the thread to a document being sent "in your high-side email" demonstrates that these people had access to classified systems and were able to use them. They were not using Signal because they lacked available alternatives.
Signal is more convenient that these systems, which may be the reason. Or it may have been, as many have speculated, to evade federal records laws. But whatever the reason, it wasn't out of operational necessity.

Maybe you can answer this curiosity of mine: when these people reach those high levels, is there some kind of crash course to learn to use the sophisticated tools they have at their disposal?

@GustavinoBevilacqua As I understand it, sort of. They get a zillion briefings about all sorts of things when they start, and may or may not be paying attention.
