If you study American history long enough, you eventually come to the conclusion that the fascism that animated Trumpism, is the same fascism that animated the War on Terror, and McCarthyism, and decades worth of murdering union organizers (both at home, and abroad), and the slavers.

I often remember to Europeans who don't know a lot of American history, the 1676 Bacon's rebellion, when Virginia settlers, together with slaves etc., took arms against the English Governor.
"Cool!", they say, siding with settlers, until I explain the Governor didn't allow the settlers to genocide natives.
At that point the rebellion doesn't look so cool.
