Just going through some old photos on a rainy day.
This amazing scenery is from just outside Tafraoute, the main town in the Anti-Atlas mountain region of Morocco. This is a particular mecca for climbers and also home to the Painted Rocks, a sprawling mass of boulders in the desert painted by a bonkers Belgian climber in the early 80s.
These have become tourist attractions in their own right, and most have been repainted since by locals. Climbing is fine with the locals, and several routes have been bolt-protected there and bouldering is popular - although the paint reduces the friction of the rock to zero, which keeps traffic on the climbs to a minimum.
This was a fantastic day in which we all cycled out and climbed one of the classic routes, during a road trip round Morocco in about 2013.
The youngest was six!
