New cosplay time!

New cosplay time! The plan is an art nouveau No Face from Spirited Away. So far, so creepy.
-
I’m going to try and keep track of time and cost for this guy. The mask should be cheap and fast, the billowing translucent gown less so.
-
Worbla is an almost magic crafting material. This guy is basically ready for primer and paint.
-
I need to make the bath tokens from spirited away. And I’m either going to sand the shit out of blocks of dense foam or make them from foam clay. The former has a better chance of looking good, and of giving me black lung from foam particles.
-
I might try balsa wood. Hmmmm.
-
I have found balsa wood and gotten the mask to a good spot.
This weekend is pattern making and a materials test. -
I think this works for my No Face #cosplay
-
I got a fabric order in, and this is way too orange a red. This needs to be the gums of a weird spirit who needs a snack, and I’m a little bummed I have to break out the dye vat.
-
I think the last time I draped a pattern was 2009. I’m a little rusty.
#sewing -
This at least looks like a real pattern. Time to trace to paper, cut out with seam allowance, and sew it together to see if it fits at all.
-
First test fit, it needs a lot of work. It’s got a little too much shape.
-
It’s looking OK. I think the top of it needs to be a lot rounder and little less canted inwards. Patterning remains annoying magic.
#sewing -
I was going to make this a very simple garment, and that is not longer the case. This is layer one of I think four.
-
I just drafted a decorative neckline with 49 individual pieces. I think it will look like magic when it’s done, but until then, oof.

@Apiary forty. nine. :D
