Lovely family
On Saturday night, the queer bar Tipsy Bear was attacked in our immediate neighborhood. Unknown people tore down the Pride flag, trampled on it and set it alight while chanting homophobic and anti-queer slogans. While the Police State Security („Staatsschutz“) investigates a hate crime, it is up to us to show our solidarity.Right-wing queer haters feel safer than ever.
Let's show that we stand together and are ready to oppose them!
Come to the rally, May 6th at 6pm in front of the bar on Eberswalder Straße, right next to the U Eberswalder Straße stationTipsy Bear Berlin on Instagram: "Dear Family, On saturday night, around 1am, a group of individuals tore down a pride flag hanging out the front of the bar and set it on fire. They trampled it on the street whilst shouting homophobic insults. The police responded immediately, took action and filed criminal proceedings with the LKA to investigate this as a hate crime. This is just one example of the hate crimes that Tipsy Bear and other qweer safe spaces experience regularly, from facist graffitti, spit on the window’s, to pepper spray attacks. In response, we invite you to join us this Tuesday 6th May at 18:00, where we will stand together in front of Tipsy Bear as a shining family and community, to hold proudly the flag that was torn down and burnt. In standing strong we rise together above the hate, celebrate eachother and send a clear message of strength and unity. Any attack against us only serves to reinforce our commitment to support eachother and to build a better world. We ask you, and all who wish to fight to protect qweer spaces and people, to join us – family, friends, neighbours, allies - in standing with us, in this demonstration of empowerment and resilience. COME STAND STRONG TOGETHER WITH US. TUES 6TH MAY 18:00 Love to all our family & community 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🤎🖤🩶"
