Bonus Q: Who immediately removes anything frm that folder? I started getting pissy about the way they were engineering my machine when Windows took over my file management. The only thing in my life I could ever keep neat was my hard drive, dammit!

I still create a "sounds", "video" and "words" folder on all my devices.

@Uair wdym took over? is this about anything recent or like back when windows migrated from the XP user folder structure to the current one (not sure if they even moved anything automatically but it's my best guess lol)

I think it was xp. Maybe 2000. Probably 2000. I remember liking xp. XPsp2 is the best OS msft ever made, in my opinion.

i don't remember anything being fundamentally different other than the Downloads directory not being there and software placing files wherever it felt like
