Some more photos of the 9" South Bend lathe.
It came with a parts book, which will be useful. Also an Air Ministry tag.
I have cleaned up the worst of the metal chips and muck that fell off into the back of the car, and also took the motor and belt clutch unit out.

In the back of the parts book was an A4 black and white photo. It might be of the chap who last owned and used the lathe.
