Just been to opticians for an eye test. Asked me if I'd had any issues in the eleventy years since the last one, and I said I'd had a bit of recurrent mild keratitis until I'd learned to protect my eyes whilst angle grinding at work.
"Yeah, you've had a metallic foreign body in your left eye."
"Oh right, how do you know it was made of metal?"
"Because you still have the rust stains."
"WHAT THE WHAT NOW? I HAVE LITERAL RUST IN MY EYE?"
This is the manliest* thing that has ever happened to me.
(*: in a stereotypical, mildly toxic traditional definition of 'manly', obvs. But still.)
