About to head to the hospital for surgery: if you don't hear from me in a while, avenge me fedi!

Dinner: vege curry and rice, with fruit cake and custard for dessert, plus a lamington for later

Breakfast: cereal with yoghurt, some toast with jam, and an apple to munch on later.

“I’m just going to get you a new handbag” - the nurse before changing my drain bag full of eww.

Dinner: macaroni and cheese, with a side of veges and salad, apple crumble and custard for dessert, and a lamington for a snack later.

About three o’clock this morning:
Nurse: “why are you awake? You should be resting.”
Me: “I am resting, I’m just not asleep.”
Nurse: “well, take what we can get I suppose.”
Also, according to the morning shift change this drain should be removed from me today, and I may even be discharged from the hospital… we’ll see.

Breakfast: this was listed as ‘vegetarian big breakfast’ and was quite tasty, vege frittas with a hash brown and grilled tomato, to which I added a slice of toast and some orange juice. Plus I have an apple for later.

I am out of the hospital.
The Uber driver has so far driven over the kerb twice, stopped in the middle of an intersection once, and also managed to rock the car so hard I banged my head on the roof.

Can't ride my bike for at least 4 weeks, can't work for at least 6... but I'm recovering so yey.
