Happy #WorldPostcardDay, folks!
I've drawn three from #Postcrossing (because I'm not made of money) and will have to pop down into town later to post them since our local "last" mail collection was at 9am.
Everyone else seems to have been much more organised and designed and printed special cards and arranged special postmarks...maybe next year I'll be more hardcore but for now this will do!

@thegiddystitcher I travel a lot and I am always on the lookout for nice but inexpensive postcards of the places I visit. I managed to grab 10 recently for just 20¢ each at a drugstore (of all places) on San Juan Island. Occasionally, I will buy art postcards for considerably more, just to support the artists. I'd like to make some but I don't think they would be worthy of sending! I'm sending out five cards today, which is the max requested by @postcrossing. #WorldPostcardDay

@mlanger Yes I've also started a little collection of cards from places traveled, the problem is I'm now struggling to part with them because they have memories attached! I'll either get over it eventually, or have to revisit and buy duplicates lol.
Making some would be fun but I'm likewise skeptical of my own skills. Maybe we should crowdsource a design for next year that people can print, like they have with the official one except it'd be a special Fedi version...
-
@thegiddystitcher I buy lots of duplicates!
It would be cool to be able to get special fediverse postcard day postcards made. It looks like a good project. I know where they could be printed at a reasonable price, but the trick would be distributing them to the folks who want to use them. I'm not sure if I'm up for that project, but with the right artwork I would definitely consider it.

@thegiddystitcher Happy #WorldPostcardDay to you too!
I'm also doing it low effort with cards I already had around, and I won't even be able to send the cards with *tomorrow*'s collection, so they'll have to go out on Monday.
And since you're out of usable hands to send more cards, would you like to receive a card from me? :)
-
@mlanger @thegiddystitcher World Postcard Day Fediverse Special Edition cards would be quite cool indeed! -
@valhalla Ooh yes please, and if we're doing Monday I can definitely write a new one by then too
Will send you a DM, but in a bit since we're not in a hurry and I desperately need a drink and a sit down first!

@thegiddystitcher don't worry, I'm currently at the “having a snack“ stage :D
