@0xabad1dea @Twotired I think that in some cases it's also just different people having wildly different ideas on what is comfortable to wearTake jeans¹, for example: they were born as work clothing, so they couldn't be *too* impractical (and they definitely weren't a signal of wealth), and yet some people just hate wearing them, while others keep using them as work wear and would feel uncomfortable wearing anything else. And I don't think that any of them are lying or self-deluded, just people being people and having wildly different tastes. And then of course you get cases where a significant minority loves wearing something, a majority or so doesn't really care, and you get a social expectation that another significant minority will hate. And yeah, can we please stop enforcing those social expectations on those minorities, ideally while allowing the other minority to enjoy them? say, provide valid alternatives?¹ pre-distressed jeans are 100% a signal of wealth and a moral failure and a sign of the imminent fall of civilization or something, but I don't think they are in any way less comfortable than a regular pair of jeans, so the difference should be only in the look?
