We had three wallabies in the backyard this morning. Seems to be the female with joey (trying very hard to hide behind the weatherstation pole) and a male keeping watch behind her.

One of the many Brown Thornbills that were calling the back yard this afternoon.

I was stuck at work this afternoon for longer than expected and so I used that time for a spot of birding.
I found some Masked Lapwing chicks, a family of Bush-Stone Curlews and a ridiculous Little Corella.

A pair of Little Corellas watching me watch them this afternoon.
One of two Grey Goshawks that were hanging around home this morning. They didn't stay long because they were being mobbed by Spangled Drongos and Pied Currawongs.
A male Australasian Darter sunning himself on the walk bridge across the northern part of the lake at work yesterday morning.
He was not at all worried about the passing foot traffic.
Just a couple of tiny frogs chatting over the “fence”.

On my way to the office this morning, I noticed this Australasian Darter, having a bit of trouble with its breakfast.
The trouble was short-lived though, and soon swallowed.

The Pacific Black Duck ducklings (well teenage ducks now I guess) have all dispersed, doing their own thing. I came across one on its own swimming about doing big duck things the other afternoon.
So the reed flower stalk is turning in to hot frog real-estate. Three there today, including a very tiny one IN the flower bloom section.
Update! The joey is out of the pouch. Caught here in-between bounding around.

Good Morning, from our backyard wallabies.

Today's frog on a reed isn't quite as artistic as the last one, but there was a nice bit of sun poking through on to the frog which made for a reasonable shot.
Stop for some Quoll-ity time.
(not my video, but everyone deserves to watch quolls)
Also spotted this morning was this incredibly photogenic frog.
I was in (to work) a little early today, so I wandered down to the ferry terminal to check in on the Rainbow Bee-Eaters.

We've had a few storms recently, but despite some of the reeds being bent over, there's still a good collection of #EasternDwarfTreeFrog s.
I counted 7 on one reed this morning, and 12 in total.
Pacific Black Duck duckling update from this morning.
They're now pretty much independent. No sign of Mother Duck. Swimming around in loose pairs doing ducky things like grown up ducks, just much smaller.

Our regular Swamp Wallaby (with joey!) is in the backyard.
The second shot was between the bottom rail of the veranda railing and veranda floor, thus the out of focus white blur top and bottom.

A Sulphur-crested Cockatoo this morning, hoping that my presence on the veranda was as a herald to seed (it wasn't).
And a Wonga Pigeon in the front yard after the storm passed this arvo.
