RE: Due passi
@wubby74 I think we went there. Near to Torino?
At least we have a video of our kids running around there like crazy, in a place that looks very similar.

RE: Saw this ...
@MelissaBearTrix Reminds me of a car I saw as a teenager.
Our number plates start with area codes, and there is an area whose code is "SU". Someone picked the rest of the number plate to be "-CK 69".
It was a red cabriolet sports car, of course, driven by a very blond lady who, let's say, fit all the stereotypes that you might have at this point.
35 years later, I still see this clear as day in my head

RE: Early morning train to go ride gadgetbahns.
My sibling in Cthulhu. If you raise the bar high enough, eventually everything will fall below it and suck.
I think the most disappointing coffee I had in Italy was from a weird little stall almost in the gangway of the airport in Rome. Then the further I got from that epicenter, the better it got.
And while this coffee truly was disappointing, I could throw a rock in Germany blindfolded and the nearest coffee would likely not be better.

I swear, people should just pay me to write happy little C++ functions.

RE: Lancio una domanda al Fediverso sperando che il Fediverso risponda.
@Puck It's possible in DNS.
You could have a resolver that doesn't update its cache, or Aruba messes something up.
Has the entry changed at the server or on your client? How do you check?

RE: Boh, direi che posso chiudere la #mastofficina e andarmene a casa a aspettare che mi venga sonno.
@wubby74 @GustavinoBevilacqua You can find the info here, but as a cheatsheet it's a bit difficult: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screw_drives

RE: Thinking once again about how offensively stupid Starbuck's cup sizes are.
It's also offensive to me that they can't seem to count. Twenty means 20 sometimes, but 24 at other times. Thirty, meanwhile, means 31.
Fuck that.
If I have absolutely no other source of a stimulant, so about once every three years or so, I might get a cup. I've long made a point of not saying those stupid fucking brand names, and just pointing at the cup I want.
But I really, really do not like anything about their coffee. It's not just the naming.

If they think they need to use Italian words for describing some of them, because it evokes more of an espresso feel, perhaps consider that nobody in Italy uses fluid ounces.
I'm sure there are worse examples, but it keeps standing out to me as the example of peak capitalist cultural appropriation that I keep encountering.

Is it ironic or poignant that #TransDayOfVisiblity and #WorldBackupDay fall on the same date?

RE: OMG OMG OMG, my proposal to give my talk about "How to deal with toxic people" has been accepted at @europython 😱
@foosel @benjaoming I'm curious how much of the Python community will understand their own toxic trends afterwards.

Welp, I just closed my #Amazon account.
Welp, I just closed my #Amazon account.
My first order with that service was on the 22nd of October 1999. I ordered a copy of the User Friendly comic book. At the time, I was living in a student home.
If you think it's because Jeff Bezos supports #fascism in the #USA, directly and indirectly with the #WashingtonPost, you'd be wrong.
I mean, those are great reasons for sure! But whatever moral strength I may possess, I am also a creature of convenience. I managed to get away from #Google ...
