@schratze to be fair, a lot of insects and possibly some birds, harmed by the pesticides used to grow the cottonand I'm not sure whether the chemicals¹ used to ret the linen or other bast fibers also harm animals or only the workersstill less than those harmed by microplastic in the seas and elsewhere¹ it is possible to process them with just water and time. afaik it's too much time for mainstream commercial production
