I wonder where the term "discord server" comes from.

like, i know that discord themselves use that nomenclature but why? they aren't servers. is it because some folks misinterpreted "server" as "place we hang out" from games like minecraft? (which does actually require a server and server software)

Is it the same misinterpretation but from teamspeak/ventrilo/irc roots?

slack and teams et al never adopted this meaning of "server" afaik

after several false starts, i finally got well into disco elysium

just suffered a bug that kept me from saving and then another bug that permanently fucked the camera

lost 5 hours of game time

guess that's it for me once again maybe I'll give it another go in a few years
