I have a lot of artwork to do for this; several hundred sprites to draw, which I neither enjoy nor am particularly good at (I'd hire an artist, but I can't afford that).
So rather than continue procrastinating and occasionally doing a little, I'm poking at code again; added this little animation when things are placed. Also look at what's needed to get drag placement working (useful for conveyor belts).

Hey Fedi, so I had surgery at the beginning of the month to cut a 10cm lump out of my abdomen, and I'm about half way through the recovery; I currently work in warehousing so need a lot of time of because it's physical labour, so I return to work on 19 May, hopefully. Which means my first payday would be the 28th of May.

So I have a crowdfunder going to help me through till then. As it stands, if I don't buy any food, I still need about $400 in two weeks time for rent, $150 the week after that for phone and internet, and another $500 the week after that for rent again.

I've raised a little, which combined with a tiny bit of savings has got me till now, but from here on is when it gets Really Tight... I'd really like to continue having food, shelter, and internet, so if you can help that would be most appreciated, and if not then please share the link around, both on here and anywhere else you are able.

So, a tennis ball is about 6.5cm in diameter.

A cricket ball is about 7.5cm in diameter.

A softball is about 8.5cm in diameter.

A baseball is about 9.5cm in diameter.

And the lump they cut out of my abdomen was about 10cm in diameter.

Just got the procedure discharge summary in the mail from the hospital.

Positive: I have enough flexibility now to shave my legs again.

Negative: my electric shaver is now broken.

Positive: Found someone selling a broken version of my shaver, but the bit I need to replace is in perfect condition.

Negative: I can't afford it anyway.

Life's about balance I guess.

My landlord¹, who's fully aware I'm unable to work for several weeks, has just put my rent up, effective immediately (or from the next time I pay, so next week).

So I've just had to increase the target of my recovery crowdfunder, which is already low as it is.

1. I won't use 'landlady', I refuse to call anyone who lords property over others a lady.

I'm not convinced it wouldn't be possible to buy an old cane bin* or similar, bodge an electric motor on to it with batteries and a roof of solar panels, fit it out with a bed and other basics, and just live on the several thousand kilometres of 2'/610mm gauge cane lines in the north here.

* 4-wheel railway wagon for carrying cut sugarcane.

Spent the day trying to find the balance point between "dehydrated" and "need to pee every 20 minutes"... I suspect there's no such balance point.

Can't ride my bike for at least 4 weeks, can't work for at least 6... but I'm recovering so yey.

I am out of the hospital.

The Uber driver has so far driven over the kerb twice, stopped in the middle of an intersection once, and also managed to rock the car so hard I banged my head on the roof.

Having a tube pulled out of your belly is the weirdest feeling

Breakfast: this was listed as ‘vegetarian big breakfast’ and was quite tasty, vege frittas with a hash brown and grilled tomato, to which I added a slice of toast and some orange juice. Plus I have an apple for later.

About three o’clock this morning:

Nurse: “why are you awake? You should be resting.”

Me: “I am resting, I’m just not asleep.”

Nurse: “well, take what we can get I suppose.”

Also, according to the morning shift change this drain should be removed from me today, and I may even be discharged from the hospital… we’ll see.

Dinner: macaroni and cheese, with a side of veges and salad, apple crumble and custard for dessert, and a lamington for a snack later.

“I’m just going to get you a new handbag” - the nurse before changing my drain bag full of eww.

Apparently morning tea ‘elevenses’ here finishes at eleven… heathens
