The whole disenchantment situation around #Starfield modding is, I hope, going to be a good reminder for #Bethesda which, in my opinion, after #Skyrim had far too much of a tendency to rely on the modding community to do the work for them.

That's what dawned on me quite strongly back on #Fallout 4, and that's what seems to have increased even further with Starfield.

It's not because your games have a history of being fantastic canvas for mods that you can increasingly rest on it, and just be okay with releasing a pretty but meh-tier game. Games which hold for decades with strong modding communities are very good games on their own to begin with.
