I found the comet again! It's still incredibly cool looking in binoculars! Go take a look if you've got a moderately dark sky (https://stellarium-web.org/ is a good place to check to see where it is, there's a free app version too)

Everything is terrible, but my 13yo gets to learn basic welding in her public high school and I think that's really really cool.

Usually my "good morning" posts are calm farm scenes.

Today's before-school "crisis": 13yo bought a little crocheted dino for a friend over the weekend.
Today's before-school "crisis": 13yo bought a little crocheted dino for a friend over the weekend. But one of our cats LOVES to carry around stuffies of a certain texture, and this one was just perfect. When I got up this morning, I remember seeing the stuffie on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. But when 13yo was packing up for school, the stuffie was nowhere to be seen. Eventually found it hidden back upstairs in the bedroom.
The moral of the story: cats are really weird.

I've gotten lots of notes from people today about 2 potential space debris falls.
I've gotten lots of notes from people today about 2 potential space debris falls.
One looks like a Chinese rocket stage that fell on Australia (https://nitter.net/RaviHJagtiani/status/1979900950199386410 and https://satobs.org/seesat/Oct-2025/0078.html)
And one is a suspiciously high altitude aircraft windshield strike over Colorado https://universeodon.com/@KrajciTom/115401237847834728.
We just keep rolling the dice with reentries, and at some point a lot of people are going to die from it. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-84001-2
This is dumb.
