Faintly remembered that in the '70s a Russian satellite crashed in the Canadian North. Had to duck-search a bit to recall the details, but it was indeed 1978 and called #Kosmos954.
It crashed into the #NorthwestTerritories near Great Slave Lake scattering radioactive debris across the land. Quite a mess.
Tonight #kosmos482 launched in '72 will come crashing down. The debris risk is lesser, but it's still an armoured one-metre sphere weighing 500kg and it's really going to be hauling ass.
