First tornado warning of the summer!
(We are totally safe where I am right now, it's sunny and the tornado-warned storm has already passed over and is moving away from us - my area is so sparsely populated they put out tornado warnings over large areas)

Always exciting to learn what each phone's emergency alert sounds like. I was surprised that an old iphone with no SIM card also got the warning.
Whenever a website is geolocating based on my IP address, it always sticks me in a random place in Alberta because of whatever weird shenanigans our rural ISP does.
So how did the phone get located to the right place with no SIM card? I clearly don't understand how any of this works...(I bet someone here does though!)

@sundogplanets The SIM is for regular access authentication with the network. The phone itself (if on and mobile not disabled) is still talking to cell towers, so triangulation is still effective.
