Back before the US went totally off the rails, I had a long-running idea to do a visit to NYC just as a big snowstorm was coming. I imagined a small hotel with a good view and hunkering down with food and warm clothes to experience the digging out after a big snow. Prob diff than my city after a big storm, and discovering how diff would be fun.
Not planning to visit again until the fascism fails, but sounds like this week would've been a good one for that.

A few other cities I'd like to visit in a snow storm are Chicago, and somewhere in northern Europe like Oslo or Helsinki.
I wouldn't go where a city is unable to handle it, as I wouldn't want to strain resources. But living in a city where we can handle a half metre of snow occasionally, I'd love to see how others somewhat capable do it too.

On the Alps, some old houses have a gate on the railing of the first floor balcony.
Guess why…

@GustavinoBevilacqua that's planning ahead.

When the snow in the road was too high, like 3 meters, they used a plank to reach the balcony.
But this happened many years ago.
