I keep blowing the knees out of my work pants (aka old jeans with repaired knees) so today I ordered a pair of purpose-made work pants, with heavy fabric, reinforced knees, and lots of extra pockets and loops.

I keep blowing the knees out of my work pants (aka old jeans with repaired knees) so today I ordered a pair of purpose-made work pants, with heavy fabric, reinforced knees, and lots of extra pockets and loops. They were delivered in just a few hours!? Okay then.
They look good, and I'm reticent to wear them and get them covered in paint and dirt. lol
I guess work pants without wear and stains don't give you any street cred, so I should just jump in and do some messy things.

To wear clean work pants, blatantly new, is the best way to be mistook for an undercover cop

@GustavinoBevilacqua lol - a giveaway! G man!

@ottaross I believe that somebody sells patches made of the wear-resistant plastic material (cordura) they make reinforced work clothes from, so maybe next time you could use those on the knees of properly worn jeans, and have both the look and the durability :) -
@valhalla Sounds like a useful product! Will have to watch for those.

It is interesting to read about the invention of these "non-fossil" plastics: there is a lot to learn!

@GustavinoBevilacqua @ottaross these days it's not made from rayon, the one I've used for backpacks is 100% dinosaur feed… er… nylon and I know that they make blends with cotton for garments, but the strength part comes from the nylon content.
I didn't know that the name went that far back!
