@mcdanlj that must have been obnoxious to rehearse.

Finally made up a drive pulley for the new-to-me 5HP motor for my bandsaw.
Finally made up a drive pulley for the new-to-me 5HP motor for my bandsaw. The interrupted cut in the 4" square aluminium blank was stressful. I'm looking forward to getting the flat belt on so I can remove the 2HP and v-belts and get some heavier planks resawn.

I don't want government to allow me to declare my gender.
I don't want government to allow me to declare my gender. I want government entirely out of the business of tracking gender. That's between me, my lovers, and my physician. Keep the government out of everyone's pants.
(Yes, this is oversimplified and broken particularly as regards the carceral state as well as diversity/equity/inclusion efforts) -

How do I find out what the dollar volume of a few days of trading was?
How do I find out what the dollar volume of a few days of trading was?
It's all good and nice to say "the market lost $5T in value", but that's market cap, not the actual churn of the day. How many dollars changed hands in the reduction of share prices? -

I recently installed a pretty fancy induction cooktop. I was just reviewing the print documentation that came with it and found this. This is the first time I find a *print* version of this information with any product.

Oh, there's no 'l'? Well I'll try to be idle nevertheless. -
RE: Poffarbacco!
@GustavinoBevilacqua hai un generatore? Ne ho comprato uno piccolo (2kw) qualche anni fa per il mio freezer e la pompa della cantina.

RE: I think #Canada 🇨🇦 must change the name of its currency.
@GustavinoBevilacqua A dollar is already called a "loonie", from the loon on the back. So we already have an alternate!

An important translation for our American friends: When a Canadian says "Sorry" that's not an apology. It's shorthand for "This is the way things are, I know you don't like it".

Trump can't tell the difference between his personal chequebook and the US's balance sheet. Congress should think about that.

RE: This post did not contain any content.
@nogodsnomasters This is grossly idealized, and the distribution in most implementations is wildly uneven, as is the application of the systematized force that comes with it. But the solution is to continue to organize from the ground up instead of believing the top is somehow going to reform itself.

RE: This post did not contain any content.
@nogodsnomasters Oddly, when enough people work together and form a critical mass, they can organize a system that redistributes resources so that everyone can prosper.
After which they forget how they got there, and forget that they have to work together to keep the system built on their collective action from going to shit.
Their apathy then leads to capture by the worst elements in society, and we're back to square one.
