@GustavinoBevilacqua @ottaross these days it's not made from rayon, the one I've used for backpacks is 100% dinosaur feed… er… nylon and I know that they make blends with cotton for garments, but the strength part comes from the nylon content.I didn't know that the name went that far back!

I bundled up well and have lifted about 150 pavers in the driveway. I see I have some stone chipping and rebar grinding to do where the prev guy just paved over lumps. My fingers are cold from lifting bricks, even in gloves. Chilly morning.

Must be my first refill of the cyan cartridge 'cuz it was complaining about 'counterfeits' and such. It's a Canon printer, so the long-press of the stop button works to clear such complaints and you can go on your merry way refilling for years. Printers - what a scam. Hope that 'open source' printer project takes off.

A last point – we've learned that we need not impose counter-tariffs to retaliate. While 'trade deals' may dictate financial rules for US imports, they don't dictate that consumers have to buy those goods. So sure, maybe US vendors can coerce a right to sell into Canada without tariffs, but if consumers choose to buy something else instead, it's a flat win.

Reading more on tempered glass in general, there's a French inventor (de la Bastie) in the 19th century that invents it, patenting it in UK in 1874. Then a German (Siemens) makes a stronger version shortly after. Then an Austrian (Seiden) moves to the US in 1935 and patents a version.So the 1934 Donbas version predates the US patent, but is likely just borrowed from the French/German earlier work.
