@ottaross Yes, in Northern Italy there are the Alps acting as a giant windshield from Northern (cold) winds, and on the Riviera coast, where I live, there is a second ridge protecting even more.
@ottaross For a second there I thought they were running a campaign on how you should choose Yale locks because they are a nice challenge to pick instead of being trivial. But no. it wasn't this clever.
@GustavinoBevilacqua A good point. The overlay of package transportation with public transit is something that is probably almost non-existent now! I recall that both with trains and with the bus network. People would send parcels that way all the time - no separate trucking required, just using up some space on regularly scheduled trains and buses.
@GustavinoBevilacqua I guess the best economy for fridge and freezer is to fill all the air space and keep it full. I often think I want to make big ice Lego blocks in winter and fill in all the empty freezer space with them. I do often use the winter cold outdoors to pre-chill hot food that needs to go into the fridge though. A nice little energy saving there, likely.
