Checking the first half of the corridor curtain door for fit and colour.
The fabric was a fantastic bargain from Emmaus South Manchester, we've got several different rolls (donated to Emmaus by a company who reupholster aeroplanes).

The foot of the Nook++ in bed mode extends under the galley worktop extension and the Sailrite sewing machine fits perfectly there. As we won't normally need to use the Nook++ as a bed this is really convenient and makes great use of the space.
I've dry fitted the shelf front along the full length of the Nook++
Meanwhile Jane has been creating a curtain that will be the "Door" to the corridor to our cabin. It's designed to be great for sound absorption.
The base for the aft section of the Nook++ which is also the lid of this part of the main water tank under the saloon floor.
The tank fill, draw, vent and gauge will be in the aft section of this.
I still need to create the under supports that will be epoxied in and which this will bolt to.
Couple of small jobs ticked off so far today.
The fill in piece at the outboard end of the Nook++ that makes the bed base with the table.
Plus the first shelf. This takes one small Ikea wood box. Next shelf up will be wide enough for two boxes.
Will be cubby storage underneath.
This is very exciting. We have been looking for ages for a cast iron pot to sit on top of our tiny diesel Refleks 66 stove. We want it to be big enough for a one pot meal that we can simmer for a few hours (like a chick pea curry).
After looking online and in several shops we couldn't find anything with a small enough base and enough capacity.
Then in Ikea to buy a curtain rod we found this (Vardagen 5 litre) and it fits perfectly. Plus it's cheaper than most pots that didn't fit as well.
A beautiful old #SailingShip just went past heading South West through the #Menai #Straits
#Schooner rig with mainsail, foresail, jib and even a small square sail
Lovely day for #Sailing
And of all the stressful bits getting epoxy on your tools like levels, impact drivers etc is one of the very worst.
Today we are epoxying the forward water tank/settee in the Nook++.
I find the timing, mess and stickiness stressful.
Still we have got the first part assembled permanently. Now just the sections of framing to connect the aft edge to the hull left. Then we can start fitting the two plywood sides. The inboard one is ready. The aft side still needs to be cut.
After that we can fibreglass tape all the inside edges and then lay fibreglass cloth on the hull and sides.
Today Jane is working on the 12mm dyneema Chainplate loops for the main mast (8 needed).
Height of luxury today. Arrived on the boat, turned the electrics on and phone (then when setup the computer) both automatically connected to the boat WiFi which was still connected to the clubhouse WiFi.
Makes it feel like a proper home when WiFi just works
@GustavinoBevilacqua either that or I make a laminated sign to include in every photo
@GustavinoBevilacqua this section of stove pipe is double walled with insulation between (supposed to help the air flow by keeping the air hot for longer). So the H fits properly onto the actual chimney but the insulation is open at the top.
There doesn't seem to be any item available in the Refleks shop to keep water out of the insulation.
Going slow and gentle today. However, the chimney through deck heatshield for our #Refleks stove is fitted. With the insulated chimney and H cowling it looks great. We will only use the full height at anchor with the boom moved to the port side. However, our understanding is this should help the quality of the burn.
I'm finding that #YouTube is aggressively deleting comments that mention #Mastodon, my blog, email, tech billionaires etc
Trying to let people who know us there to any other platform is being actively prevented.
For the first time in a couple of years we have a (temporary) floor in what was the navigation area. We can now walk to our aft cabin
Now trying to gain popularity with Jane by fitting a floor (supports will be permanent, temporary actual floor on top) before she gets back. Will make access to the aft cabin a lot easier.
Note we are using thicker sole boards so existing supports need adjusting.
Also dry fit of the handhold that also ensures the galley extension doesn't sag if you climb on it.
@GustavinoBevilacqua that price is definitely one reason I haven't ordered it
I also want to see how we can fit fans that clamp to the chimney.
