Well, that took longer than I was hoping, and a lot more tilting of the plate back and forth because waffles are not precision-leveled surfaces. But it was, actually, pretty meditative!
After re-imaging the Pi Zero about a dozen times, I finally have the HyperPixel Square display working! Next I have to get the alternate I2C interface working, alternate because this display is sitting on the normal one. (Or find some other way of letting it read the state of the 11 buttons and 6 punch card bits, I don't actually care how.)
Got the 1/8"/3mm passes done, and tried to clean up the upper edge which mostly just made it worse. I'm calling it on the pantograph work, and will just have to do a lot of sanding. But first, I want to finish the first plate to confirm the mill operations before I continue with this one.
I soldered up the test wedge of the stained glass hemisphere, and while my soldering still needs some work, I think this is going to look pretty good in the final glass. Particularly backlit, mounted over the light tube in @avhn's living room, which was always the goal.
